Hey guys! The weekend is here… FINALLY!! This week has dragged on pretty badly for me. Work was a little bit stressful. you know what makes that better though.. well for me it’s food lol. This Garlic Butter Italian Sausage Sandwich Recipe is freaking amazing and a total spirit lifter. If I had to look for a fault there is only one… I tend to want to over eat them lol. These are easy to tweak and add some of your favorite toppings to, so go ahead and give them a try. When you do make them be sure to take a pic and post them to my Facebook page!

Garlic Butter Italian Sausage Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
Sausage Mixture:
- 1 lb. Ground Italian Sausage
- 14 oz. Tomato Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Red Wine
- 1 Tbsp. Basil
- Salt
- Pepper
Garlic Butter:
- 1/2 Cup Butter Softened
- 1/4 Cup Basil
- 1/4 Cup Parsley
- 2 Garlic Cloves Minced
Sandwiches:
- 4 Hoagie Rolls
- 4 Provolone Cheese Slices
- 8 Mozzarella Cheese Slices
- Red Onion Chopped (Garnish)
- Basil Garnish
Instructions
- In large pan/skillet, break up and brown the Italian sausage. Add in the tomato sauce and red wine. Allow to simmer for about 15 minutes over a medium/low heat. Remove from heat and stir in seasoning.
- In a small bowl mix together all of the butter ingredients.
- Spread the butter equally across the inside of the rolls place and toast in the oven.
- Once toasted, lay two pieces of mozzarella cheese in the rolls, top with sausage mixture, then top with the provolone cheese and place in the broiler until the cheese is melted.
- Top with diced red onion and a little bit of basil and serve.
