Feta & Blue Cheese Burger

Time for some more grilling. It is finally getting warm again here in Chicagoland (it’s over 45 degrees!!!) So I decided to jump in the back yard and fire up the grill. I am going with one of my wife’s favorite burgers. On top of tasting, and naturally being a juicy burger these are some of the easiest ones to make. This Feta & Blue Cheese Burger will become one of your favorite burgers period!

Feta & Blue Cheese Burger Recipe

Total Time 45 minutes
Servings 8

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. Ground Beef I used 80/20 Chuck in the video
  • 5 oz Crumbled Feta Cheese
  • 5 oz Crumbled Blue Cheese
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/4 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Red Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Ground black Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Rosemary

Instructions

  • In a small bowl whisk together your egg and Worcestershire sauce, then thoroughly mix in the Garlic, Black Pepper, and Rosemary.
  • Place your meat into a large bowl. I like to poke holes all over the ground beef using my fingers to allow the liquids to get down into the meat. It makes for easier and more thorough mixing. Pour the egg mixture into the holes and over the meat.
  • Next dump in the 1 cup of chopped red onion and thoroughly mix. I don't add the cheese in at the same time as the liquids to avoid the cheese crumbles from falling apart.
  • Once the liquid mixture is thoroughly mixed into the meat, add 8 oz. of crumbled feta and 4 oz. of crumbled blue cheese. Again thoroughly mix this into the meat.
  • It's time to make the patties. There are no rules here. Make them round, square thin or thick. Form them the way you like them.
  • Cook these awesome burgers!

Notes

In this video I grill them, in the past I have put them in the smoker too. If this is the route you are going I would suggest a hickory wood for smoking. I don’t add a slice of cheese on top but you can if you want to, this is already a VERY cheesy burger though you wont need the extra.
One I put these together I like some BBQ sauce, fresh sliced Jalapeno and a little bit of crisp lettuce. I found they compliment the flavors in the burger in the best.
