TONY RICAN is the creator of “Average Guy Gourmet,” a YouTube cooking channel with over 30,000 subscribers and 45,000 Facebook followers, featuring simple and fun recipes created by an average dad. Born in Chicago, Tony is the first generation off the island, with his family originally from Santurce, Puerto Rico.

Tony spent 15 years on the road as a professional wrestler before settling down as a husband and father. His greatest accomplishment—becoming a dad—inspired him to reconnect with his heritage and explore Puerto Rican culture through its cuisine, a journey he shares with his father and children. In addition to his YouTube success, Tony coached pee wee football for seven years, instilling teamwork and dedication in young athletes.

He combines the theatrics and production skills from his wrestling career with the simple, flavorful meals taught to him by his father, making cooking accessible to everyone. Tony is also the author of the Amazon best-selling “The Easy Puerto Rican Cookbook.”
