Once again my Dad came over and we decided to make some Puerto Rican food. I tried to get him on camera this time but he insisted he couldn’t since none of the women watching would pay attention to anything but him LOL! Anyway in this video we tackle Sofrito. This is the main building block in so many Puerto Rican recipes, it’s indispensable, universal, and is a recipe you just can’t live with out!
Puerto Rican Sofrito

Ingredients
- 2 Medium Spanish Onions
- 3 Cubanelle Peppers if you can't find these you can use Italian Frying Peppers
- 16 to 20 Cloves of Garlic
- 1 Large Bunch of Cilantro
- 7 to 10 Ajices Dulces small sweet peppers
- 4 Ripe Plum Tomatoes
- 1 Large Red Bell Pepper
Instructions
- Chunk all the ingredients.
- Put everything into your Blender/Food Processor. You may need to do this in a couple of batches depending on the size of yours. Just make sure to mix it all together when you are done.
