French Onion Soup Dip

Well it has been a STRESSFUL week here so I wanted to do a super simple recipe. What’s simpler then a great party dip? Even better then a simple party dip is an AWESOME party dip with a cool little twist. So here you go we are taking French Onion Soup and turning it into a dip. No not just ordinary French Onion dip, but actual French Onion Soup Dip. Now this fun recipe tastes great and it is one of the easiest things I have ever made. So I know you can tackle this one no problem. When you do make it, be sure to take a pic and post it to my Facebook page.

French Onion Soup Dip Recipe

Total Time 1 hour
Course Appetizer, dip
Cuisine American, French
Servings 6 Servings

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb. Onions
  • 2 Cups Dry White Wine
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 1 Garlic Clove Diced
  • 1/2 tsp. Thyme
  • 3/4 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 Cup Gruyere Shredded
  • Baguette Sliced
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Heat about 1 Tbsp. of oil in a pan/skillet. Add in the sliced onions, slowly adding in the wine and broth over the course of about 45 minutes to an hour. Constantly stirring.
  • Add in garlic and all of your seasonings, allow to cook for another minute or two until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  • Remove from the heat and add in sour cream and mayonnaise missing together until completely combined.
  • For the bread heat your oven to 375˚, spread shredded cheese over the sliced baguette and bake until the bread is toasted and cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
