How to Make Pretzel Crusted Chicken w/ Cheddar Mustard Sauce
Ingredients
Chicken:
- 2 Chicken Breasts
- 1 5oz. Bag of Pretzels
- 1/2 tsp. Paprika
- 2 Eggs
- Salt
- Pepper
Cheese Sauce:
- 2 Tbsp. Flour
- 2 Tbsp. Butter
- 2 Cups Milk
- 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese Shredded
- 2 Tbsp. Honey Mustard
- 1/2 tsp. Paprika
- 1/4 tsp. Cayenne
Instructions
- Butterfly chicken breasts and cut them in helf, flattening them with a mallet to about 1/4 inch.
- Place pretzels in a food processor and pulse until the are fine crumbs. Pour into a bowl, add in paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. In a second bowl beat eggs.
- Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a pan. coat each chicken breast in the egg, then the ground pretzel and place in heated oil. Allow to cook for about 4 minutes per side.
- While the chicken is cooking melt butter in a small sauce pan. Add in flour and whisk together, allow to bubble and cook for about a minute. Slowly whisk in milk and allow to summer for about 5 minutes to thicken up. Turn down heat, add in cheese, mustard, paprika, cayenne and sal stand pepper to take.
- Serve chicken and top with sauce, add a little parsley or red onion on top.
