  • 1-1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1 12 oz. Can Evaporated Milk
  • 5 Eggs
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350˚
  • In a microwave safe bowl mix together 3/4 cup of sugar ad 1/4 cup of water until sugar is completely dissolved. Microwave until the mixture becomes a golden honey color. About 5 or 6 minutes, watch it closely because it will burn if it goes too long.
  • Pour the caramel into ramekins and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together evaporated milk, egg, salt, vanilla and remaining sugar. Divide the mixture evenly between all fo the ramekins with caramel in them.
  • Place into a glass baking dish. Fill the baking dish about half way with water. Bake for about 60 minutes. Once done carefully remove and refrigerate for about an hour so it can completely cool.
  • Gently slide a butter knife between the edge of the ramekin and the flan. Turn the ramekin upside down onto a plate to allow the flan to slide onto the plate..
