This is my basic pulled pork recipe I use for everything, from my Fried Macaroni ( http://youtu.be/qpAKEXVnZRs ) to BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches to Sweet Pork Quesadillas. This one is REALLY easy and yields a LOT of food for very little work.
Slow Cooked Sweet Pulled Pork Recipe
Total Time 6 hours hrs
Servings 10
Ingredients
- 5 – 7 lbs Pork Roast I use a Butt, but a Shoulder or Loin will also work
- 8 oz. Chunky Salse
- 1 Can of Dr. Pepper I had to pry this from my 10 year old son's hands
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- Water
Instructions
- Put the pork into your slow cooker, I cut it in half due to having a small cooker. Put the fat side down if possible, and fill about half way with water.
- Cook on High for 3 Hours.Put the pork into your slow cooker, I cut it in half due to having a small cooker. Put the fat side down if possible, and fill about half way with water.
- Drain water, if you didn't need to cut the pork in half to fit you will now need to cut it in half before adding ingredients.
- Add Salsa, Brown Sugar, and Dr. Pepper.
- Cook on low for 3 – 4 hours.
- Shred Pork
- Enjoy!
Notes
If you are making a BBQ Pulled Pork, add any style of sauce into the shredded pork. This doesn’t NEED BBQ sauce at all, if you want it is ready to serve as is.
