Spicy Baked Beans

Here we are coming into BBQ season. You know it’s not all burgers, ribs, and smoked pork. We need some killer sides to go with all that great food. With that said I give to you some AWESOME Spicy Baked Beans! I mean baked beans are a staple of the back yard BBQ so I figured why not next level them right? Lol I love a little spice in my food so that’s exactly what we did here =) added a little kick to this classic. Ohhh I literally just thought of this as I was typing lol.. make these with my Fried Potato Salad and OMG you have the killer sides you need to complete ANY BBQ!! Spicy Baked Beans Recipe

Total Time 2 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 54 oz. Baked Beans
  • 10 Bacon Slices Chopped
  • 4 Jalapeños Seeded and Diced
  • 1 Onion Diced
  • 2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 Cup Molasses
  • 4 Tbsp. Ketchup
  • 2 tsp. Ground Mustard
  • 1 tsp. Cayenne (use more or less to your taste)

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 325˚.
  • In skillet/pan start cooking the chunked bacon until it is about half way cooked. Remove chunks from the pan leaving the bacon grease in pan.
  • Add onion and jalapeños to the pan and sauté about 5 minutes.
  • Add all remaining ingredients into the pan and mix until combined. Cook for about another 5 minutes allowing all the flavors to combine.
  • Pour contents into a baking dish and spread partially cooked bacon on top of beans.
  • Bake for about 2 hours, allow to stand for about 5 minutes and serve.
