Puerto Rican Pasteles Recipe
Try this Puerto Rican classic, it is a favorite every where!
Filling
- 1-1/2 lbs. Pork Shoulder Cut in about 1/2 inch cubes
- 8 Garlic Cloves
- 1 Tbsp. Orengano
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1/4 Cup Lime Juice
- 1/4 Cup Orange Juice
- 1 Cup Pimento Stuffed Olives Sliced

- optional 1/2 Cup Raisins I don't use them since my dad doesn't like Raisins
- 2 Tbsp. Achiote Oil
Masa
- 2 lbs. Yautia Peeled and Cubed
- 2 lbs. Green Bananas Unripe Peeled and Chunked
- 1 Large Plantain Peeled and Chunked
- 6 Tbsp. Achiote Oil
- Salt
- 1/4 Cup Milk if you need it to smooth the texture out more I didn't use it in the video it does make it easier
